The website that I decided to look at was http://www.ecdvu.org in Africa. You always hear things about Africa and how poor of a country it is so that me curious and wanting to explore early childhood education there.
It shocked me to learn that they have some of the same research topics as we do in America. Some of their research topics include quality childcare for their children, quality childcare services, parent collaboration, school readiness, and developmentally appropriate practices.
Something that caught my eye was grandparents caring for young children affected by HIV/AIDS. That is something that we do not have to worry too much about in the United States. However, it is still of concern because it involves children.
Misty,
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how many research topics around the globe are the same or similar to those here in the US.
Misty,
ReplyDeleteI have come to the conclusion that people are the same every where. We all have basically the same hopes, dreams, and desires. The major differences in people's lives are their circumstances.
Misty,
ReplyDeleteI would expect Africa to have some of the same research questions and concerns. Although they deal with things on a higher level than we do here in America, it's all the same. HIV/Aids is here in America, we just don't hear about it much or deal with it the way they are in Africa. America could take some pointers on care and family from Africa. Thank you for sharing.

It hard to believe that after the struggles and war in areas of Africa, that there is still time for a commitment and change towards education. I can only hope that children are able to receive a safe environment for a education that is well deserved. Children regardless of the nature of their surroundings deserve to preserve their innocence and gain knowledge to seek a better future through school.
