Some of my favorite Quotes

Here are some of my favorite quotes about children and teaching children.

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance. ~Franklin P. Jones
"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."- Stacia Tauscher

"Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand."- Chinese proverb

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.- Henry Adams

  1. I like the quote by Stacia Tauscher. I have to tell myself to enjoy every moment with my children right now. It used to be common for me to say, "I wish she could talk." Or "I wish he was potty-trained." Now, I just enjoy my children each day without wishing for the future to come faster.

    1. I agree with you. I just got my older son potty trained and I have said all summer, "I wish he would just use the potty." He's going to preschool next month and it saddens me. I am excited and want them to do bigger stuff but then it's sad because they are growing up. My youngest son will turn 1 next month and I am wishing that he would start walking. But taking a minute to really think about that quote, I have to enjoy the now because it is gone so fast.

  2. I love those quotes and I hope you don't mind if I use them at some of my workshops when I go back to work.LOL I understand to often that if you show a child how to do he/she will follow but if we do nothing neither will they.I see that I am goinng to enjoy reading and responding to these blogs because learning from different people and their point of views willing help me bring a lot more to the table with my students.

  3. Hi Misty,
You posted some really good quotes. I see we like the same quote by Stacia Tauscher. I like this quote because sometimes we do forget to enjoy children and help them be the best they can be from day to day, to appreciate who they are one day at a time. Don't worry about what they will do or accomplish tomorrow, deal with that when tomorrow comes.
